Hi,
I have BT SH2 - what can I use the USB Port and how.
Am a Win10 Desktop PC
Can I added a USB 4 Port Hub ad then use stay 2 or 3 USB Drive/ USB Hard Drive etc...
Also what actual should people be using the USB Port on BT SH2 used for?
Thanks 🙂
You can use it to connect a USB hard drive as a network drive.
A few things to point out.
It will be slow as it is only USB2
It uses SMB1 so you will have to enable that in W10 as it is disabled by default as it is deprecated.
Map a network drive letter to \\192.168.1.254\usb1
I have just upgraded to a Halo3 SH, and the fact that it still requires SMB1 protocol, which Windows warns strongly against enabling, is a very frustrating situation to continue with - i.e. the USB port is effectively useless.
Why? There is no security risk if you know what you are connecting to via SMB.
