Yes, this is another one of those threads. For the past few days, I have been receiving the message "You are seeing this page because you are using a BT service which requires the use of BT DNS Servers and it appears that you are attempting to connect using a DNS server outside of our network. Our BT Protect and BT Parental Controls services both require the use of our BT DNS to keep you safe online. You may have selected a different server in your network settings or installed an application that uses an alternative service."
Now, for some strange reason, it only shows this message when I view my Steam profile, or the friend feed. Every other page on Steam does not show this message. I've tried many of the tips suggested in other threads with no success. This is what I've tried:
Clearing all browser cookies and cache
Checking that the IP/DNS are obtained automatically
Hard reset router
Manually entered Google DNS setting
Full anti virus scan
Deleted parental/protect controls
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks.

That will cause the message you are seeing.
You need to clear the computer DNS cache.
Assuming its a Windows computer.
At the command prompt, type
ipconfig / flushdns
Make sure BT Protect and BT Parental controls are uninstalled, not just disabled.
Then restart the home hub.
The other possibility is that you have a virus or trojan program which is intercepting your DNS requests.
If you download and run the free ADWCleaner it will scan your computer for any malware that may be lurking on your computer.
