Hello,
I've just replaced a working Home Hub 6 with a Smart Hub 2 and some wifi discs. I'm getting some problems with one particular PC that is on a wired Ethernet connection to the new SmartHub.
One my kids is playing Minecraft and other online games on it, the internet connection repeatedly drops out briefly. Another one of my offspring is playing the same Minecraft game on another PC on wireless with no issues. I have another wired-Ethernet connected PC which seems fine, but it's only really used for web browsing so may not see the problem if it's just dropping out briefly.
I tried swapping over which port on the hub the problem PC was connected to. I tried switching back to the HomeHub6 and it all works fine again - so it has to be the Smarthub2. It's had a factory reset and I've switched the smart setup off. I've done a quiet line test and all was good.
Anything else to try before I conclude that it's just a faulty hub? It was a used hub.
Many Thanks for any thoughts!
Sounds like a faulty port on the SH2 especially if it is second hand. I would just use the hh6 or you could try and phone 150 and see if you can persuade BT to send a new hub
So - I bought a brand new SmartHub2, same problem! Argh!
It has to be something to do with the wired Ethernet ports that is different between a HomeHub6 and a Smarthub2. Any ideas? I don't want to go back to the HomeHub6 as I switched to the SmartHub2 to be able to use the wireless discs to extend the wifi range and give a stronger single and better speeds.
Thanks in advance for any ideas to try!
Just looked in the technical log and I'm getting loads of ARP{add] and [del] messages - see below, is that a clue? In case you haven't guessed I'm not very techie!

BT sent a new one and has worked fine, so old/new hub was faulty
