Re: BT Smart Hub (Home Hub 6) Bug Reporting + Improvements

Is it just me...or does the BT SMart Hub not support Infinity 2? I'm asking this as I am only seeing speeds of the Infinity 1 55Mbps despite my account saying I'm on aand paying for Infinity 2 76Mbps?

Re: BT Smart Hub (Home Hub 6) Bug Reporting + Improvements

A bit off topic but you might only get 55 if you are some distance from the cabinet.

You have to be very close to get the full speed.

Maybe best to try a forum that covers Infinity issues.

Infinity 1 has a 52Mb/s limit I think so unlikely you are on that.

Smart Hub Manager does not differentiate between 1 & 2, only BT Infinity and

BT Infinity 3/4 which is not available yet so that won't help.

Re: BT Smart Hub (Home Hub 6) Bug Reporting + Improvements

this is very true its about the distance to the cabnet , i am on Infinity 2 and i get 65meg and 20 meg   which for me is amazing speeds !  i,d be happy with 40meg because thats fast enough to do anything with !  just think of some poor people in the countryside are only getting 4meg speeds 😞   and no chance of fibre yet !

Re: BT Smart Hub (Home Hub 6) Bug Reporting + Improvements

I do know that the speed is determined by the distance, but with my NetGear router and external BT Infinity Modem the speed was coming up between 75 and 80.5Mbps...and with all the other issues with the Smart Hub I'm seriously thinking of returning back to the Netgear Router and external BT Infinity modem setup...and put up with a slightly worse WiFi signal around the house.

Id of thought wifi coverage was more important than another 20 m on speed when its fast already.....

Is not just the speed or the wifi signal...the SmartHub is too unstable and there are too many bugs in the firmware to waste time keeping using it.

@fred2103

Infinity 3/4 are FTTP services and certainly do exist

Re: BT Smart Hub (Home Hub 6) Bug Reporting + Improvements

Have found with Smart Hub if you ignore my ongoing dis-connects/no network issues the

speed is reported as very constant with almost no variation on the BT Wholesale speed checker.

With the HH5 was getting up to 30% variation. Mind you it could be a 'tweak' of the software or

Router going on and not an actual improvement such is my scepticism of BT.

Back to Smart Hub bug reporting + Impvovements............

Seem to be getting more and more Inrternet 'freezes' with Smart Hub although could be

unrelated. (Unresponsive frozen screen).

Anyone noticed this? Happens with IE 11 and Chrome so probably not a browser issue.

Re: BT Smart Hub (Home Hub 6) Bug Reporting + Improvements

The web interface to the SmartHub keeps locking up with Safari on macOS Sierra and for iOS 10.2 on both my iPad and iPhone. Just another annoyance to add to the growing list.

I have a replacement Smarthub but refuse to plug it in until a stable firmware is released.
For now I'm back on HH5
