Anyone here know how to turn off the BT wifi hot-spot off the 6? I wonder if that's a contributing factor to 3 hubs getting bricked?
BT Wifi opt out page : Check status with ability to opt out/opt in.
Not sure if it makes any difference to potential 'bricking'.
Never found it useful as signal/speed seems to be very limited
and uses <10% of available bandwidth if I understand it right.
More a last resort feature when out and about.
I moved my router yesterday so I thought I woud unplug my TP Link VR900 and try the smart hub to see if anything has improved.
This time all my Android devices and laptops connected first time, great I thought, but then my sons iphone and the 2 ipads would not connect showing "no internet connection" I pesevered for a little while again, factory reset changing wireless name etc etc, but to no avail. Back it went in the wardrobe and VR900 plugged back in for a faultless connection!
So, so far theres been:
SG4B100021D0 (Initial F/W)
SG4B10002244 (Latest F/W)
If anyone was wondering the order or latest firmware, here it is.
(If there is a misktake or Im missing one let me know, )
So by my calculations there have been 116 iterations of the firmware of which 7 have been released!!!
The releases mentioned are the ones I'm aware of - and they total 6 rather than 7, don't they?
Whoops, I can't count!!! 😊😊
Well, it was late in the evening and possibly past your bedtime.
Anyway, the principle holds: rather a lot of attempts to get the firmware right with not a great deal of success. Let's hope the Smart Hub does better in 2017 than in 2016.
