BT Smart Hub Powerline Issue

Hi, I wonder if anyone can help here


I recently upgraded to Infinity 2 from Standard Broadband after my Cabinet was finally activated. My office PC is connected to my Hub via home plugs (Tp-Link AV1200) and has been for quite a while now (my old HH4) without issue.  


My new infinity connection via the home plug works (I can connect to the internet) but doesn't seem as fast as it used to be, so I thought I'd run a speed test to see, the test ground to a halt as the Hub dropped the internet (orange light came on) and then reset after a minute or so. It does this every time I try to run a test, using a variety of services.  When I used to test on my old HH4 ADSL connection I never had a problem, but now I can't check.


Anyone got any idea what's going on?

What happens if you connect by wifi and run a test. If that still does not work it suggests the homeplugs are not the problem.

Make sure you turn off "smart setup" on the Homehub.

See link how to do that.

After you have done that, I would factory reset the homeplugs and re-connect them to the Smarthub and your PC then re-run your tests.


If still not correct can you run this checker and post back a screen shot of the results. Make sure you delete your phone number before posting.

and use this speed tester then scroll down the page and carry out the further diagnostics and post back a screen shot of all the results including your IP profile for up and down. This test must be done with a wired connection.

As you have the Smart Hub, (Homehub 6) can you go to hub manager then advanced then technical log and post the stats. http://bthomehub.home/
