And eventually they'll make it so you can only use the Home Hub with their service,

That may have already happened with BT Vision. See http://community.bt.com/t5/BT-Vision/Connection-Failure-BTVision-cant-connect-to-homehub-After-month...

I reckon BT is trying to lock the user out of the ADSL Stats.  Like with FTTC and things like that, you can't access the stats, maybe there going to do that from now on for everything.

Although I'm not on Infinity, the stats are available to view directly from the modem, though I would get a serious botty kicking if I say how - search the www for the answer, but here's a couple of images that I did find

OR modem stats 1.JPGOR modem stats 2.JPG

Re: BT Speedtester Changes

@Keith, works fine on some of my other routers...

@John, Sky is one :L

@DS, I've got a few Openreach modems I can test on, I connect to the internet through one of them sometimes because of the broad com chipset 😉

Re: BT Speedtester Changes

Surely if all ISPs force users to use a specific modem to access the internet then that breaches some laws, as it is a restraint of trade.  Router manufacturers would then be locked in to specific ISPs and unable to sell their products to anyone who wanted to buy them.  It would probably breach EU laws, even if it was not contrary to UK law.

Re: BT Speedtester Changes

The internet is a pretty restricted place already, but it really wouldn't surprise me.

Re: BT Speedtester Changes

Regarding sych rate - I have two lines

1st - personal with broadband and BT Vision

2nd - business with broadband

Speedtest on 1st does not show synch rate but runs additional qos test

Speedtest on 2nd does show synch speed

?

go figure that one . .

Re: BT Speedtester Changes

It appears that BT have restricted the number of tests to one per hour again. Is anybody seeing similar?
