BT Sport App freezes when watching live stream on an ACER ACTAB1021 tablet

The cause has been identified as a faulty hardware decoder on these devices. We're putting a workaround into the app just for this device to use software decoding instead, but it'll only work for the standard player - enhanced player won't work on these devices for the foreseeable future unless Acer are able to release a fix.
I expect the fix to be available to download in about 2 weeks.

Hope all's well.

Updated the app today, but no joy. Still freezes.

There's a small white square on screen now that wasn't there before. Square is showing on the the phone app too.

It's going to be another couple of weeks before we have a version of the app that we can release to the public with this workaround I'm afraid. It's tied into a bunch of other changes, so we couldn't include it in this weekend's update.

I received the first drop of the updated player today. The video is a little jumpy for the first ~10 seconds, but then settles down to a decent stable picture.
It's too late for this Sunday's scheduled update, but I'll aim to get it into a public beta next week. I'll update here when it's ready.

That's it finally in the beta release - it was a little delayed with us also trying to fix the Hudl.

The update is there now if you join the beta - just click the button half way down the BT Sport details screen in Play Store and the update will become available straight away.
