Good to see that the app on Apple TV 4K has been upgraded to output full chroma subsampling at 4:4:4 on BT Sport Ultimate. It looks better than the same stream on the BT TV 4K box which only provides 4:2:0. Obviously, you can record with the BT TV 4k box.
