Totally agree. It's so frustrating having to either watch the whole match on replay or just a 3 minute montage of whiteline crossing and kicks. Seems everything is designed to appeal to youngsters who apparently aren't interested in the game, just the scoring bits. It's the same with the Caribbean Premier League cricket. Used to be 45 mins (to fit an hour slot with adverts) now reduced to 12 minutes. Just biff, bang, bosh of 6's and 4's and wickets.
There is also the fact that Premiership Rugby have launched their own web based service. Every match available either as paltry 3 min "highlights" (bitesize eh) or all games are replayed in full. But only 24 hours after the result.
They have also removed the hour long highlights show from free to view Channel 5 which I think is incredibly short sighted if you want to grow the fan base.
