Your message 17 suggests only connected for4 days when there was resync
OK, sorry, misunderstanding. The line does not drop whilst I'm using it, it is stable. It may sometimes drop during the night, I assumed this was a resync/maintenance by BT, but it would always resync at 34,998Kb/s.
Since the requested reset by the mods, it has not dropped, and is now syncing at ~45Mb/s, previously was capped at ~35Mb/s.
45Mb/s was what I was getting with TalkTalk, before moving to BT, I assumed I would get similar speeds, as its the same line. I have no idea why it was stuck, but mods seem to have found and fixed issue that BT helpdesk was unable to identify.
your connection was in a banded profile which is normally the result of bad/dropping connections over a short period hence why you need to check from hub stats connection time that connection is stable otherwise same may happen again
Line was reset by BT, and now syncing at 45Mbs for 3 weeks, however I am only getting 38Mbs on speedtest.net
I am fortunate that I also have an additional FTTC connection from another provider to same property. This is connection syncs at 49Mbs, and speedtest.net is 46Mbs. Both go to same cabinet.
I did notice that my BT connection is 6dB SNR, and the faster connection is 3dB SNR. Is there something that can be done to get the BT service to use the faster 3dB option that other providers use, as I am paying extra for the faster service with BT.
the normal noise margin is 6db but if you are on Huawei cab and have a stable connection then the DLM may activate G.INP which reduces noise margin to 3db giving boost in connection speed. this is automatic and not manually controlled
Thanks for quick reply, if only the DLMs were as quick as your replies 🙂
Any ideas how long the automatic process takes to activate the G.INP after a reset? Line was reset 11/2, sync went from 35Mbs to 45Mbs, and has remained at 45Mbs since then.
normally 7/10 days stable connection but as I said it is automatic so nothing you can do to speed up process aprt from keep line stable what is current dsl not system uptime shown in hub stats
I have not touched my router since BT 'reset' on 11/2, system up time is 23 days, line has been up for 36 hours.
Forget system uptime. It is DSL uptime that matters.
