Good point.  The last thing you want is to be stuck in various different contracts that all end at different times.  The maximum haggling opportunity is when every minimum contract has expired and you can leave at the drop of a hat.


I'm currently paying £1.75 a month for the BT Privacy option, which ought to be free but the sneaky people at BT didn't renew it when I renewed my broadband.  I'm not going to lock myself into a 12 month phone contract to stop paying it, because then I'd be stuck over-paying for my broadband when the discount for that runs out.
