BT TV Install engineer visit

Go to solution

Do I really have to pay £20 for an engineer to visit and set up my BT TV?

I am computer savvy and already have a ethernet hub sat next to my 4K tv, with the hub hardwired to my BT router, so can I opt out of the engineers visit?

Hi @steviegal,

Thanks for posting. If it's a UHD order then there's no way round the engineer visit. It's in place to make sure everything is set up correctly at the end user premises.

Cheers

David

Thanks DavidM, seems a waste of £20 as all they will do is connect an ethernet cable from the BT box to my hub.

I had BT TV for around 6m before moving to the UHD service a week ago.

Both times they just sent me the box and I self installed. No problems at all and no engineer visit required.

also online they give you different install times to what BTTV would offer you if you phone up - online you can get from 7am but not if you phone them
