BT TV Not Working - Everything Else Fine

15th March had an email saying BT Infinity going live on the 16th but BT TV would be a few days later.

 

16th March - BT Infinity fine (39Mb down / 10Mb up speed). Connected YouView via powerline adapters (I know, see below..) and followed setup instructions. 149 freeview channels. Internet reports connected. Can watch catch up, record freeview, set reminders etc. Didn't expect BT on day 1 and it wasn't.

 

Nearly two weeks later and still no BT TV option. "BT Player" button on remote has no effect. Channels 500 up are not in TV guide. There is no "BT" option in the You View menu (Settings, Players, On Demand etc all present and correct).

 

I've tried a full reset of the STB. No change.

 

I've seen the warnings re powerline adapters. The You View box reports it is connected. The BT Home Hub reports the IP and MAC of the You View as connected. I can watch catch up TV. I don't THINK there is a problem.

 

 

Could it be the powerline? Have BT just forgotton to switch me on (despite sending the box)? Is there something buried deep in a menu on either the STB or the Home Hub I need to kick? Any other suggestions?

Yes the BT ISP is 220 so you need to call them to activate your subscription

Go to bt.com/help find contact us then problem with my service, problem with BT TV, ring them or use the chat service to get someone to activate it now!!

Done (after passing from one call centre to another to another ...)

 

Should be activated by Tuesday.
