Excluding the sports channels!
I haven't been keen on updating my BT TV package to the new Now TV packages because of the apparent loss of the HD options. I now understand there is an HD bolt-on available (although I've yet to see it offered anywhere).
As expected, my current package cost is increasing to £30 per month soon and I have been looking at the Now TV packages that are available. But from what I can tell, while I gain a few channels I don't have right now, I'll be losing quite a few too.
Is there a Now TV package available that doesn't include sports, but does include channels like:
These are the channels my wife watches most and she will be disappointed to lose them.
I suspect that either I will have to stick with the Max TV 4K package I have now and swallow the cost, or switch to Sky TV.
Thanks for looking.

No.
It's stick or twist I'm afraid.

You could try the Classic Entertainment. That would give you:
ID
Crime & Investigation
Lifetime
TLC
and you can add the HD option.

Aaaah, I hadn't noticed that package thanks Stew - the packges seem to be displayed dynamically based on whether I'm logged in or not.
I'm guessing that I can't get the Entertainment package, plus the Classic entertainment package on the same subscription, plus there seems to be quite a bit of crossover in channels.
At the moment it's looking my best option is to go to Sky TV then.
It's looking that way. Thanks for the reply stereohaven
Welcome.
There is quite some doubt about how long "Classic Entertainment" will be around for, so you could sign up and still have to move anyway, hence my "No".
BT have made it clear they have to simplify and get rid of legacy products across their services and Max HD, 4K and Classic Entertainment all include channels that are likely to removed when the current contract to provide them expires, hence the constant push to NOW TV packs IMHO.
I am waiting for my Max HD and Broadband contracts to expire before moving fully, but ordered Sky Q when they introduced the NOW TV packs on BT and I love it. Everything you want above channel wise plus more and if you negotiate, for less. 😉

Before you do that have a look at Plusnet, they still have the equivalent of the MaxHD pack. But how long for is another thing.

No, you can’t mix and match the packages. The new packages do not suit everyone and if you wish to keep the existing channels which are on the legacy packages, then moving to Sky is the only option.

Thanks so much for everyone's input on this.
What happens next for me will be a tough decision. We've been with BT TV for years and while we compromised in the first place to make the switch from Sky, I feel like things have changed too much to justify staying with BT TV.
I am disappointed because I have my phone line, fibre and TV with BT right now and because I use my own router and the internet service is so strong and consistent I won't be changing that, but I will have to change my TV provider.
Thanks again for your time.
Is the price increasing because your contract is ending or is this for all customers on the max TV packages?
