I have installed BT Virus protect on my Apple iMac. When I try to run a full scan of the files on disk the error report is display on initialization.
Re-installation has not changed the situation.

You probably want to post the error message or share a screenshot. There's nothing for others to diagnose otherwise.
It might be quicker to ask in parallel on the McAfee forums as BT's Virus Protect is basically McAfee rebadged.
BT Help desk have now helped by accessing my iMac and reinstalling BT Virus protect after running an uninstal app.
