BT Whole Home WiFi - Triple Pack - 1 dics not working...

We jsut got BT Whole Home WiFi for Christmas.

 

Went to set it up.

 

No problem with 1st disc. No problem with 2nd disc. But 3rd disc doesn't work.

 

The 3rd disc stays in a constant purple light. It never changes. Not to blue, nor does it flash. Even when you use the factory reset button, it does nothing - it just stays purple.

 

As such, it can't be added to the mesh on setup.

 

I tried using the disc in a different order, making it the primary and then the 2nd disc...but the same...it never leaves a solid purple light.

 

Surely this is faulty? 

 

Everything else was so easy and works great. Anything I can try before I send it back?

You could wait for a comment from @Dan-O, or simply return the faulty disc for a replacement.

Yes, the only thing I can find is that a solid purple light is when the firmware is updating. So I can only assume it's somehow errored on update or something like that.

 

I bought from Amazon, so I will arrange  a return no problem. 

 

It's a shame, because Discs 1 and 2 went in fine, all working good.

Did you leave the one that is faulty, connected direct to your router for quite a while, to see if it updated?

 

You may have to plug it directly in, reset it, and leave it for a while to see if it completes the update.

Yes, I did. That's what it suggests on the app. I at first tried connecting to a network switch, then directly to the router just in case.

Its a bit annoying, bu you will have to ask for a replacement, Amazon are usually good in that repect.

Yes, have done so. Unfortunately the lot has to go back. A replacement will be here 28th. Hopefully this isn't a sign of things to come in the future. Wouldn't want a firmware update bricking them when they're out of warranty.
