BT Whole Home Wifi "unable to detect new disc" (secondary connected via ethernet)

I am setting up a new Whole Home Wifi system. The first disc is installed fine. I am now trying to add a 2nd disc, which is connected via ethernet (via a cable running around the outside of the building). After I specify a name for the disc the BT app keeps telling me it's "unable to detect new disc".

Should I be following a different procedure for adding a secondary disc via ethernet?

Hi, i have successfully added the primary and 3 extras today. the process i used was to have the first one plugged directly into the router and set up. Then plug the 2nd( or 3rd or 4th) directly into the router as well.
It takes several minutes (inc some short blue periods), but eventually the second one will go constant blue as well. at that point the app will find it. I did have one that seemed to mess up, but i left it plugged in next to the primary and did a factory reset with a pin in the hole on the back and it worked fine again after a few minutes.

Once the secondary was constant blue, i was able to unplug it and move it to its final location and reconnect it. 2 on WiFi back haul and one on Ethernet.

I understand that is probably the exact same process as you are using, but without knowing your set up there might be differences. Try factory resetting the secondary device, and make sure it is constant blue before you try to add it.

Thanks for the reply. I tried a firmware update in the meantime, then re-tried the original process and this time the 2nd disc connected (from its original location in another room - connected via ethernet).
