BT Wi-Fi app and Android 4.0.4

Is there any way to get the BT Wi-Fi app for Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich?  The Google Play Store tells me that it is incompatible with my device, a Kobo Arc, running 4.0.4.  I can't find any reference to this problem elsewhere.

Thanks.

Re: BT Wi-Fi app and Android 4.0.4

I had the app on my Samsung Galaxy S2 running ICS, soon got rid of it thought.

Totally unnecessary piece of software that constantly tried to connect me to my own public wifi rather than my own network.

My phone remembers my password so it's easy to connect to the BT Wi-Fi when out and about without needing the app.

Re: BT Wi-Fi app and Android 4.0.4

Its likely that the Kobo device is running a 'closed' android build,ie, you cant install everything like say the Kindle Fire.

On the SGs2 issue, the app works perfectly well but you have to use settings to prioritise connectivity.

SGs2 can log in manually, but the app will do it for you - if you set it up so to do.

You could always try "side loading" the app.

Google search "how_sideload_android_apps".

Used it to load apps on my Storage Options tablet that isn't supported by the Play store

AllanQuatermain.

I might try the BT app again, give it a second chance, especially after I change my router
