BT WiFi Dongle Not Working After BT Smart Hub Install
This is a bit complicated so please bear with me...
I have recently been upgraded to a fibre connection and as a result I have been sent a new BT Smart Hub to replace the old one. This was installed as per the instructions and at first everything appeared OK.
My problem is when I use an SFTP client such as WinSCP or Filezilla to download files from a remote server the wireless connection fails.
I have a Windows 10 desktop machine with a BT dual band WiFi dongle. When I first connect to the remote server all is well, I can view remote directories and files. I can also upload files. The problem only occurs when I try to download any file. The SFTP client tries to start the transfer which then fails. When this happens the WiFi connection is lost and the only way to restore it is to unplug the WiFi dongle from the USB port and plug it back in.
When the failure occurs the following warnings appear in the Windows System Log:
Name resolution for the name settings-win.data.microsoft.com timed out after none of the configured DNS servers responded.
Followed by one of these events each 2 seconds until I remove the WiFi dongle and plug it back in:
The network interface "BT Dual-Band Wi-Fi Dongle" has begun resetting. There will be a momentary disruption in network connectivity while the hardware resets. Reason: The network driver detected that its hardware has stopped responding to commands. This network interface has reset 1 time(s) since it was last initialized.
I have tried un-installing the driver and re-installing it (version 220.127.116.11) but this had no effect.
I also have a laptop with built in WiFi which works perfectly OK.

Did you turn off smart setup in the hub?
