BT/Yahoo Mail -- Safe Sender List

An e mail from a certain body, It's Trading Standards, always goes to my Spam box.

Looking at this help information it says there is a "safe Sender" list.

https://www.bt.com/help/email/using-bt-mail-s-anti-spam-features#collapse4Standardresponsivegrid-540...

I would like to set up the address in this list but can't find it.

So where is it please?

Re: BT/Yahoo Mail -- Safe Sender List

If you are still on the BTYahoo email system it does not have a safe senders list. It is only available on the BTMail system.

Re: BT/Yahoo Mail -- Safe Sender List

Thanks, I'm on BT/Yahoo., so no safe sender

Any ideas how I can get the regular mail from Local Trading Standards to go to my In Box rather than spam?

The matter is made worse because the spam is not forwarded to my Thunderbird account!

Re: BT/Yahoo Mail -- Safe Sender List

You can only keep marking it as not spam and eventually the spam filters should catch up.

From your previous posts I see that you have set T'bird up as an IMAP account. If that is the case you should set the spam folder to synchronise with webmail.

In T'bird:

  • Select the mail account from the left column;
  • Right-click on your mail account name and select Subscribe;
  • You will see all the available IMAP folders on the server. Select the ones that you want to add to your mail client and click on Subscribe;
  • Press OK and you will notice that the new folders are now available.

Actioned as you have suggested.

After selecting the 1st "Subscribe", I note that all of the list items are checked.

So ther are no new folders to become available

Problem?

Re: BT/Yahoo Mail -- Safe Sender List

Does it show the "spam" folder when you saw the list of folders?

When checking for your spam make sure you are looking in the correct folder for the spam. T'bird does not have a "spam" folder. It calls it the "junk" folder.

Re: BT/Yahoo Mail -- Safe Sender List

In the list there is NOT a SPAM Folder, but there is a JUNK Folder, which T/bird regards as SPAM.

Re: BT/Yahoo Mail -- Safe Sender List

If the BTYahoo spam folder is set to synchronise with T'bird you should be able to see what is in the spam folder when you open T'bird.

I have no idea why that is not happening unless your spam is being deleted by T'bird rather than being placed into the "junk" folder.

Re: BT/Yahoo Mail -- Safe Sender List

Agree, I think it's being deleted by T/Bird.

Don't know how to stop this.

For the address I'm interested in, I've set up the address again in BT/Yahoo mail to see if it makes any difference

Thanks for help

Re: BT/Yahoo Mail -- Safe Sender List

I presume when you manually move it into your BTYahoo inbox it does show in the T'bird inbox.

If that does happen you could try setting up a rule/filer in your BTYahoo account so that any emails with the relevant address are moved into your Inbox where they should then be download by T'bird.

I am no longer on the BTYahoo system so I can not give you a guide how to set up a rule/filter.
