BT YouView+ and YouView zapper - which one will get BT Sport?

Hi

I’ve signed up to come back to BT (hope some of the router/Xbox clashes are resolved but that’s another matter).

I have a YouView Zapper box from my previous time with BT, hardwired to a network switch.

The package I’ve taken out includes a YouView+ box which will replace our Virgin V6 box.

I’m a bit confused as to which box will show the BT sport and handful of ‘premium’ channels? Because we’re on Virgin broadband, the BT zapper has reverted to being a standard YouView Mini and all BT branding has disappeared on screen. Will that change back when we’re back on BT fibre, or do I need to change/activate anything?

Thanks

Hi @Bossworld,

It should go through the Youview + box. That's the box that we would support with your package.

Thanks

Hi Daniel

Do I need to enable the BT stuff on the new box? Just trying to understand how it determines which is box 1, as it were.

Also, would the zapper ever be usable as an extra box for the £5 a month extra charge?

Hi @Bossworld,

I'd recommend connecting the Youview+ box first. Go to the extra channels and make sure you can get the channels. Afterwards, reconnect your other box.

For our BT TV Extra Box service:

BT TV Extra Box

If you’ve got a recordable YouView box, you can order an extra one to get BT TV in another room. Prices start from £5 a month, plus £49 for a YouView box or £99 for a YouView+ box.

Thanks
