Re: BT and BTSpeedtester on it's **bleep** yet again?

I am using a BT activated line for the Tests that are 'FAILING to complete'.

I mention the Satellite Link because I get better than 8 Mbps DL in Rural France. I would expect better than 3 Mbps DL in the UK. Is this unrealistic for BT ADSL ?

Summat's happened! The original just performed the quickest test I've ever seen and came up with a sensible result:

Just a thought.  Before you got that realsitic result did you -

- turn off all antivirus softwre?

- did did you power cylcle your router?

If not, did you try it like later that as a double check?

Nope, nope and nope. I'm not bothered about my speed right now as I know it's around 17Mbps, as it should be. I was just seeing if BT Speedtester was back on the rails yet. Seems it is. Until the next time at least.

Fair comment.   Like you I regard the speedtest results as a guide, no more, no less.

The only figures of interest, really, are the IP profiles, .

Realistically, the general speed throughput must vary considerably, over any given period of time.   This can be particularly noticeable around here in the evenings and in school holidays.

Both are working now, for me anyway, but they still don't give the same result

speedtest 5.81Mbps - though assured rate still fails

beta d/l 6.82Mbps, u/l 0.34Mpbs, ping 74.56
