BT broadband is a joke !!

I thought I would sign up to BT Broadband because they were a major phone company with millions of customers and they own probably all phone lines in the UK, and if I was to have a problem they would be able to resolve the issue fairly quickly.

 

I signed up for an 8 meg connection, yet I haven’t had over 1.5meg yet.

Ive had 4 engineers called out who all claimed have fixed the problem.

Made over 27 calls to their so called support line. My 7 year old daughter could do their job, all they do is read out a check lists that is written in front of them. If you ask a question that isn’t on that list they don’t understand you, for example “ Can I speak to your manager to make a complaint”

 

I was told that I cant make a complaint until this issue is resolved. If the issue was resolved I wouldn’t need to complain!!!!

 

This is the most unprofessional company I have delt with.

 

9 weeks later and I am no further to getting my problem fixed.

Did you contact the forum moderators, as suggested on 11th October ?

 

Which exchange are you served from ?

yes i contacted the moderators and i got the response i got was

 

The notes on this account show that our supplier has identified the fault and it has been passed to a specialised team to resolve this issue. The supplier has stated that they expect more information on this fault for tomorrow and the technical help team will be calling you back to advise further information on what is happening.

Currently there is not much more I can do as it is being dealt with, however should you not receive any word please let me know and I can chase it up for you.

and no they didnt help sort it

Which exchange are you served from ?
If I were you, I'd get back to the mods, tell them it's still not resolved, and see if they can chase it again.

Just one point you signed up to ad UP to 8mb service the speed you get is dependant on line length and condition there is no guarantee you will get the full 8mb

Nathan has a sync speed of 8128Kbps (see his other posts elsewhere) but is getting throughput from speedtester.bt.com of less than 1Mbps.


There's definitely a problem at the BTWholesale side of things - possibly VP congestion, hence my querying which exchange he's on.

I can't help thinking this has escaped the net ....

 

Clearly as stated already, the fault lies on the network side of things.

 

I do wonder whether it's merely a network addressing issue, as even a hot vp would give some throughput.

 

The tester is showing a strange reply to the download/throughput test.

 

Drop another message into the moderators:  BT Forum Moderation Team <forum.moderation.team@bt.com>

 

Meanwhile the thread is flagged for attention.

 

At that loop loss you should have a smokin' connection Nathan.

The exchange that is serving me is Skegness, i live approx 500 yards from it, i can appreciate that i may not get full 8 meg but the speed test i did this morning showed i wasnt even get half a meg connection.

I also released that when i did a BT speedtest my downstream has changed from 7150 to 1150.

 

How can things slip through the net ? im on the phone every chuffin day for 9 weeks?

So see what the mods say, drop that message in again, they'll look at the notes.
