I have contacted BT couple of times, spoken to different agents in the debt collection department, to query/dispute
a 8 year old BT account (for £42) that has been recently reported on my Experian Credit Report but they couldn't find any record of it.
I have also checked online and my BT account is showing nothing to pay.
Please can someone get in touch with my as it's blocking me for making a Mortgage Application as my credit report has gone down from Excellent to Poor.
I can send proofs of confirmation emails and screenshots if needs be to resolve this dispute ASAP.
Experian has raised the dispute on my behalf as well - ref no: 517796516

Raise a dispute with Equifax and they will contact BT and investigate, see Credit Dispute

I'm having exactly the same issue at the moment. I'm having trouble with a mortgage because of a £165.00 charge from 2018! I knew nothing of this until I ran an Experian check. BT had the wrong postal address for me so I did not receive any correspondence. Annoying!
Anyway I paid it yesterday and was told it would take 4 weeks before it would be removed. We don't have 4 weeks and it's looking like we might lose the house.
I have just sent a direct message to BT via twitter and they have responded straight away and I currently have someone checking this for me so I would suggest doing the same.

My issue is that I have no way to make payment as well the account is showing all up-to-date.
No one is able to track it on BT and Experian side.

Equifax has no record of it and it's not even showing on my Equifax Credit Report, so they can't raise any dispute.
I have contacted Experian to raise a dispute with BT to investigate but they are still waiting to hear and I am blocked here to make Mortage application.
Just had a chat conversation with BT and they have confirmed that they have no record of it - is it possible to speed up the notification to Experian, I am advised to check after 10 days?
I have had to create an account on Equifax and log a dispute request. They have acknowledged this and raised a case and told me 21 days before it comes off. Not ideal but slightly better than a month....
