as you have only the one socket does it have a test socket as shown in john46 diagram?  if so are you connected to that test socket?

 

with your attenuation of 71/72 I cannot see a very good connection and probably about 1mb max

I'm on my third hub as well. (see Orange Power Light of Total Death)

 

It would seem that there has been a batch of dodgy hubs released to the market in the last 4 - 5 weeks. I'm sure that BT are aware of this problem and have checked what batch is effected and withdrawn them.

 

Aye, right!

|I agree with imj a very high attenuation figure unfortunately you will never have a fast connection
