The point is that whoever asked what is not important,what is important is just trying to answer each question as honestly as possible,without all the pointless in between sarcasum, and btw I could never spell sarcasum correctly.

Hi,

I already got the route some weeks ago but after 4 rescheduled appointment, no engineer ever turned up with the vdsl modem... Thinking about getting a modem off ebay and setting up myself at this stage.

That won't work, you need some changes at the cabinet and the exchange to enable FTTC. The engineer is supposed to do a managed install which includes a new master socket, if you ever have one turn up.

As there is work to be carried out at the cab to enable a VDSL connection there would be no point in buying a VDSL modem from ebay.

Didn't get any reply from the mod. Got my 4th appointment booked for the 8th of november. Hope someone turns up this time. Spent 3hrs on the phone with them today, almost 25hours over the last 2 weeks. Loosing my patience now, thinking about walking into their headquarter next week to make a point on this...
