BT mini hub problems

I'm temporarily using hub which is fine on apple products but windows 10 pc  no good. Can't use any search engine.  Windows could not automatically detect this network's proxy settings. I tried setting them to off but no difference. Any ideas?

Windows  10 allows two profiles for wireless and LAN  connections, public and private.

If it was set to private when you were connected to your home hub using wireless, then you may need to change the wireless  connection from the mini hub, to public.

Not a scientific answer but somehow it worked for me:

Settings/WIFI/Show Available Networks/Properties/Metered Connection

Set this to On

BTW I was also on Public Network Profile but this alone did not resolve the problem
