BT outgoing mail is not reaching recipients

Outgoing emails with btinternet.com are not being received by recipients; incoming emails to btinternet.com address from other ISPs arrive successfully.

 

This happened last year, I think, and I really don't want to go through the customer help phone procedure again (when, incidentally, the adviser let slip that BT were having server problems even though this was not announced publicly).

 

Any hint as to when the problem is going to be solved would be much appreciated as I am waiting for an urgent email from another btinternet.com sender.
