BT powerline adapter disconnecting

I believe that a BT powerline adapter I have is randomly disconnecting and causing issues with my connected devices to it.

I have a NAS, Apple Time capsule and Samsung SmartThings connected to it and I get a notification when the SmartThings is disconnected, at this time when connected to WiFi I can't connect to the Time capsule, SmartThings shows disconnected, yet my BT smart hub is connected fine to internet, proving to me that's it's not there internet dropping but this powerline adapter.

Do they have a power saving mode that could be dropping in, can I stop this?

Is there a way to upgrade firmware? How?

Is there an app/program to check status etc, I also have TP-Link and they have a utility to monitor, upgrade firmware etc.

Anything else I can do? It works but just drops randomly.

Thanks

Which BT adapters are you using?

Re: BT powerline adapter disconnecting

It just says "mini connecter" on it. It has a pass through plug and lights on top.

Re: BT powerline adapter disconnecting

The mini connectors should be fine.

What I would try, is a factory reset of the home hub, as it may be that which is disconnecting the devices. It can happen when the home hub has been in use with lots of different devices.

Re: BT powerline adapter disconnecting

I've had numerous smart hubs because of other problems though so not sure it's this.

Also in the manual it says flashing blue is synchronising, pairing or sleeping, so maybe there is a sleep mode but nothing else in the manual about it or management of it

Having used bt wifi hotspots for years I am too having this problem out of the blue, if I reset I might get a connection then it drops out and no internet connection

Re: BT powerline adapter disconnecting

Can't find a tool, why can't this be disabled/an option? I'll decided if I want power saving, and for this case scenario for equipment connected I can't have it. Think I'll have to buy another and check there's art least a tool to select functions

I hope you are not trying to run both the TP Link ones and the BT Mini connectors at the same time, as they will interfere with each other?

Re: BT powerline adapter disconnecting

I do yes but that's allowed. You don't have to use specific ones from the same manufacturer.
