Re: BT "phishing@bt.com" rejecting forwarded phishing e-mails MODS ATTENTION, PLEASE!!

I am having exactly the same problem. Phishing emails, which purport to be from BT, bounce back when forwarded to phishing@btcom

I have had 3 of these in the past few days

Re: BT "phishing@bt.com" rejecting forwarded phishing e-mails MODS ATTENTION, PLEASE!!

Same here. Multiple email addresses are rejected by the phishing@bt.com. Was working, not been so for several weeks now.

All the phishing emails are from bt email accounts.

So, those of us who are tryingto help are being rejected by BT! If we stop, then you will never know the extent of the problem. Perhaps that's the idea, no reports, no problems!

Time to get your act together BT!

Re: BT "phishing@bt.com" rejecting forwarded phishing e-mails MODS ATTENTION, PLEASE!!

Hey Guys. I'm sorry but if you took the time and trouble to read through this thread you would see that the correct course of action has been pointed out several times by several different people. I am so fed up seeing the same bleat repeated again and again. PLEASE NOTE: this is a Community Forum and it is NOT as far as I am aware ever visited by anyone to do with BT. Maybe it should be (another matter for another debate in a different place) BUT IT IS NOT.  Now get real, calm down, do the right thing and stop posting stuff here which has already been dealt with by the Community.

Re: BT "phishing@bt.com" rejecting forwarded phishing e-mails MODS ATTENTION, PLEASE!!

The "correct course of action" does not work reliably and has not done so intermittently for a considerable time as many comments on this forum clearly show. There are alternatives but if something is offered and touted it should work reliably or be removed.

People from BT do read these forums, that’s what the Moderators are here for. Initially they took the matter on board, but apparently to no lasting effect.

Re: BT "phishing@bt.com" rejecting forwarded phishing e-mails MODS ATTENTION, PLEASE!!

Which 'correct course of action' are you refering to?

Re-start hub, zip the email, or give up?

We are still asked, by BT, to forward suspicious to phishing@bt.com, and it doesn't work!

MODS were responding, but not now. Probably filed as 'too difficult'.

report@Gov.uk is overloaded, and ALL my spam/phishing emails come from BT email addresses. So, the solution lies in their hands, not mine or the other posters on here.

Re: BT "phishing@bt.com" rejecting forwarded phishing e-mails MODS ATTENTION, PLEASE!!

If you took the time & trouble to read the thread, you'd find the "fix" often doesn't work.
If you don't like "seeing the same bleat" then skip them, whilst the rest of us continue to make it known yet another piece of the mess that is BT's in house, post Yahoo email system is unfit for purpose.
This has NOT been dealt with; it's an ongoing issue.

The forum moderators are BT employees and post on the forum daily

Re: BT "phishing@bt.com" rejecting forwarded phishing e-mails MODS ATTENTION, PLEASE!!

I am so pleased that 'IMJOLLY' (Distinguished Sage) took the trouble to respond to my post with important and informative facts that I did not know. I am grateful. But in the event of what he said, namely  "The forum moderators are BT employees and post on the forum daily" then I would like to add my voice to all the others who might rightly ask , then, if that is the case (i) why has someone not dealt with this matter and/or (ii) acknowledged it and (iii) informed us all as to what is being done and when we might expect to see a resolution.

Re: BT "phishing@bt.com" rejecting forwarded phishing e-mails MODS ATTENTION, PLEASE!!

I have raised the matter as a complaint on MyBT. It has been acknowledged (presumably automatically) with an allocated case number. It will be interesting to see what happens. Failing an appropriate answer I suppose the next approach is to write (snail mail) to the apropriate Board member. There is surely somewhere a legal reuirement to reply to oficial correspondence.
