should only need your phone number to work - service id should be blank
just tried it and it was working but slow

I've used it hundreds of times over the years and this is the first time I've had a problem. The message was a bit deceiving because it was saying my phone number wasn't recognised, rather than that there was a problem with the tester.
You can use either the phone number or the service ID or both...as it clearly states on the page.
I stopped using this forum several years ago because at the time there were a number of users who couldn't resist replying, even when they had nothing to say...I hope it's better now.
