BT sports price increase

Just got an email from bt informing me of the £4 price increase from 1st Nov.. I have just renewed my bb for 24 months and free bt sports for 18 months on a special offer. I watch bt sports on sky platform. Why am I being sent this email? Do. I need to ring to query? Does not say in my contract about the 18 months free bt sports. As I wanted confirmation of the 18 months free bt sports she confirmed the offer by tx which I have kept. Thanks

Re: BT sports price increase

You don't have free BT Sport on Sky, you might of once but not anymore, even the old free BT Sports went up during the term so you've been paying monthly for it,  there are no free promotions and all BT Sport on Sky promotions are 24 months, not 18 months.
Sounds like your last promotion was a free for 18 months deal, your recent renewal will only include broadband and calls in the order confirmation, if BT Sport was not part of the order journey.

Give BT a call and explain the issue, if you're within the 14 day cooling off period, you can revert back, then see what options are available.

Re: BT sports price increase

We got same email today. We have BT Sport for Sky at a discounted price and contract has several more months to run so not sure if price increase should apply or not.

Re: BT sports price increase

Yes I do got a letter from bt informing me if I recontract for bb for 24 months. I will get free bt sports. I recontracted on the 5th  August 24 months fibre essential at £19.99 and 18 months free bt sports. I insisted that my new contract should mention the free bt sports but she said she will sent me a tx to confirm.  I had an ongoing complaint and the person dealing with it was from this department The tx dated 5th August said thank you for speaking to me today your bt sport is now free for the next 18 months NOF 1 RR AQ Sky with BT BB (16.99) (18m) 18M FREE) (18.75 OOC). Any problems at all please call 0800800150. Regards Angela pl do not reply to this email we won't see it. Thanks

Some abbreviations Indo not understanding. I will give bt a ring and I do not think the November  rise should affect me.

The AQ stands for acquisition, it's for new customers, not existing
£16.99 is no longer a valid price
£18.75 OOC means it goes to £18.75 out of contract, it should state £26.75 as the base price of BT Sports on Sky with BB is £20.00, so the OOC increase is £6.75
18M means 18 months, all BT Sport promotions are 24 months

Re: BT sports price increase

I just spoke to BT CS after a long wait on the phone.  I was told to ignore email and the price increase will not affect me.  As my contract states 18 months free bt sporrts.  Will just need to keep an eye on Nov bills.

Re: BT sports price increase

Can I cancel my tv package because of this increase. or am I stuck till the end of my contract which ends december 2021.? I've been with BT since they started broadband and tv and they have just got worse and worse over the years. Had the UHD package when it came out and haven't seen anything in UHD since I got it, all that's happened is they've taken away channels. can't even upgrade to the NOW TV packages online, which is a disgrace for somebody who has been with them as long as I have..
