Re: Email Login problem

I had the same problem, but after a couple days I managed to sort it out. All I dome was select my main email address and made it my favourite email address. Whenever I click onto the email section on my BT homepage, it sends me straight to my inbox

Re: Email Login problem

If anyone is still having a problem with this, I spoke to BT yesterday and they have it logged as an issue.

Apparently it's a server issue and they are trying to sort it out. Couldn't give me a time scale though.

Re: Email Login problem

Briantheref.     Thanks for that, I have now set me main email as favourite and I can access my emails at that address on my laptop. However I have other active email addresses; do you know how I can access these accounts as the failure message still appears on these ?  Thank you.

Thank you.

I am still having problems and the  message remains the same. I have no access to my webmail through any browser (Chrome, IE or Edge) or computer (Desktop PC, Win10, or iPadPro).

I am not altering any settings because so far emails are coming to my Outlook, iPad and phone and I don't want to lose what remains of that functionality. Everything worked perfectly until Thursday 2nd July when access to webmail suddenly stopped.

Re: Email Login problem

Still no access via Chrome, tried flushdns and making the email my favourite. Neither worked. The favourite seemed to simply reset itself and ask me again on subsequent attempts to acces via Chrome.

Access via Microsoft Edge is still fine, so I'll temporarily switch browser until someone eventually resolves the problem.

Re: Email Login problem

Well I have sorted mine out, somebody mentioned they set their favourite email address as their primary address (If you have registered more than one email address).

I can confirm this does actually work, and also allows access to any other email accounts you may have set up.

Once you have selected your primary address as favourite you have to close the browser and re-open.

This is in Microsoft Edge (Windows Evaluation Copy).

Re: Email Login problem

Just to let you know we are continuing to investigate this issue.

If anyone is still experiencing this issue and is willing to help us gather some diagnostic data, please let me know.

Many thanks
Gavin

Re: Email Login problem

Hi Gavin

I would be happy to help. I’ve grown increasingly frustrated at not being able to use any app on my phone to be able to access email (issues started last Thursday for me - rang support on Saturday and they promised a call back. Safe to say that hasn’t happened yet).

I’ve downloaded the BT mail app but it sometimes times out and is really slow. The native mail app and Gmail apps both register the account fine but gmail can’t find the folder structure but the iPhone mail app can find all contents of all folders other than the inbox. It even lets me send emails fine. However I get the mail server is not responding error when forcing a check for mail.

Logging on to the webmail is clunky and extremely slow too - this times out at points too but does at least give me the chance to check for imparts the emails, albeit in an unreliable and less than efficient way.

It certainly feels like an incoming server issue timing out but I am keen to help so count me in for any diagnostics needed.

Thanks

Re: Email Login problem

Hi Gavin,

I use Firefox and still can't access my emails via MyBT but Paddy suggested using www bt com/email (wouldn't allow me to reply to message with a link in it so I've removed the dots) and I have no problems accessing emails this way.  Also I can access them via my iphone with no problems (I don't use the BT app for this).

Yvonne

Re: Email Login problem

Hi,

I set one of my emails as favorite, and now can access ok via any browser. Then switch addresses to look at the others.
