You saw my post saying that the Reply-to box was filled in with the bty address?
Of course, that could just be my account ...
Not quite fixed yet, on Safari 11.1 using the webmail client although the default address is correct the pulldown when creating a new email on the from line still contains the 'internal' address.
This of course may be a caching issue but as the webmail client is served by mail.yahoo.com I believe it is a remote issue and NOT local.
Perhaps the real issue is that all email addresses using btinternet should be returned to the UK and not served via Yahoo at all as they seem to be as leaky as a seive!

Yes, I can confirm that the issue is resolved for the three e-mails accounts which I have. Things appeared to be fixed last night. Thanks to the mail server folks that sorted this out ... wherever you are!
I'm now going to attempt to delete the rogue 'Name123456@yahoo.com' alias addresses which are still listed in my Help -> Settings -> Accounts window. If that's possible, and hopefully it won't disrupt anything else ...

It was such a relief to see my name in the little blue header, instead of the bty string. A relief until I checked my account details and found btinternet as my default email. The one I use has been relegated to an extra, along with the bty string still lurking. I'll check in again when I see how that pans out

Looks like I'm back to normal now too. Thanks to all those who helped and highlighted this issue

That is unlikely to change. What address were you using as default, don't post the whole address. If it was BTOpenworld, they are totally interchangeable with BTinternet addresses. You can still change the default as described in message19.
