BTHomeHub2 Random disconnects

Hi,

I have BT Total broadband with a BT Home hub 2 and have recently been experiencing random disconnections from the internet. I first noticed it when in normal browsing and it wasnt a big deal because i just waited a few seconds and the connection re-established. However, when online gaming or downloading from a site that doesnt support resumable downloads, this is extremely infuriating.

I have a copy of the event log...

Re: BTHomeHub2 Random disconnects

hi welcome to the forum
Can you please post the full results from http://speedtester.bt.com/

or http://bt.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/9354/c/346,4740,5520 and post the results .

Have you tried the quiet line test? - dial 17070 option 2 - should hear nothing - best done with a corded phone. if cordless phone you may hear a 'dull hum' which is normal

Then someone here may be able to help and offer more advice.

Re: BTHomeHub2 Random disconnects

hi could you try connecting the hub to the test socket behind the removable front plate of the master socket this test eliminates all internal extensions and gives a direct connection to the exchange if possible try and leave it connected there for 24 hours if you connect using a filter you can sill retain your phone service as well
