Hi, I've just set up by Hub6 and only device which won't connect is smart tv. It recognises the Hub pulls down the MAC address and IP but states subnet mask is incorrect - it's set at zeros. The TVs worked fine on Hub3 which I've returned to BT.
Ive spent 2 hrs going between Samsung and BT and no further forward.
I have v scant tech knowledge but if anyone can help I would be v grateful.
You should be able to set a static IP address on the TV which is outside your router DHCP range.
You will need to consult the TV manual on how to do it, but give the TV an address of 192.168.1.20 and a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0
... and default gateway of 192.168.1.254.
Try Google's. 8.8.8.8
Have a look here and take your pick, any two will do if the TV is looking for more than one.
Hi pharbinson, a couple more things you could try:
1) Factory reset the Hub6 to clean out any DHCP state that might be causing problems.
2) If you have a mobile phone that can act as a hotspot and good enough mobile signal you could try connecting the TV via wifi to the Internet. And then update the firmware on the TV.
Googling I found some similar problems here and elsewhere and the guidance is manual configuration.
Good luck!
