As far as I know existing systems copper cable (voice and data) go from home to the exchange, then the signal is split at the exchanged based DSLAM, one part goes into the fibre data network the phone part goes onto an analogue line card for the audio part.
NOW in the FTTP solution does the voice and data both go down the fibre from the street DSLAM or does it split at the cabinet with the data going over fibre BUT the analogue voice still going down the copper to the exchange?

If you mean FTTC rather than FTTP (FTTP doesn't go to the cabinet and there may not be any copper at all to the house) then the phone is split at the cabinet and goes back to the exchange on copper whilst the broadband is backhauled by fibre.
Yes I meant FTTC and I thought as much speech still suffers from line noise, but lets all use IP phones 🙂
Have you tried a quiet line test on 17070 option 2? Any noise report a line fault.
BTW your internet will suffer too.
