BTTV sports HD

Received and setup my UHD BTTV box yesterday and i have the BT sports package and the HD bolt on.

These all show on my box, but when I try to watch BT sport HD or AMC HD it gives me error code IPC 6023.

ive checked broadband connection and reset everything. I’ve also gone to the BT TV app on the box and tested my network speed and it says I should be fine for HD streaming.

I can also watch all on demand content in HD without an issue.

my internet speed is 13Mbps which is also way above the 5Mbps required for HD.

The box is connected to the internet using the power line adaptors supplied by BT.

Can anyone help as BT helplines we either jammed or not working and online chat says it was closed today.

Re: BTTV sports HD

You have the box, do you have the HD addon ?
What package do you have ? the VIP, Max HD, Max 4k all include free HD, any other package the HD is a chargeable addon.

Check your order confirmation, It will list what you're subscribed to.

Re: BTTV sports HD

Then you will need to contact BT, they have a TV support team, it could be that some parts of the order never completed correctly, It should be a simple fix.

Re: BTTV sports HD

IPC6023 is a very common error, there must be hundreds if not thousands of posts on that topic on this forum going back at least 5 years. BT were investigating it but I don't recall any conclusion being published.

It's basically multicast packet loss (a network error of some kind). A solution I published years ago, which some found useful (and others didn't) was as follows;

Log in to your router and make a note of the DNS server addresses and the IP address for the TV box, log out.

Go into settings on your TV box and set the network properties to manual, keep the existing IP address but change the DNS addresses to those noted from the router. Save and exit.

Come back and let's know if it works for you.

Re: BTTV sports HD

So I’m 72 hours on and I still haven’t heard from the BT technical team on the progress of this.

They said someone would call me on my mobile once it was fixed and also to discuss an issue with my new BT tv box where the HDMI output also seems to have some issues (not signal related, not cable related as tested with new cable and tested old cable on sky - where I get white flickers regularly with a loud pop and sometimes a green signal).

i tried to call the tech team earlier and after 30 mins waiting, I got through and halfway through giving the operator my phone number, they put me on hold then cut me off.

tried again and wait time said 1 hour, and I don’t have that amount of time to spare today.

is there anyone on here who can help to check the progress?

Re: BTTV sports HD

How is your box connected to your hub and did you try what I suggested earlier

Re: BTTV sports HD

It’s connected with the cable.

I haven’t tried your solution yet as BT said they had found an issue at their side and I can get the SD channels without issue so It’s not like it’s affecting the BT broadcasts getting to the bix.

unless you’re saying your solution would only affect the HD channels broadcast from BT?

Re: BTTV sports HD

As I said, that error code is very very common, anything is possible.

Search this community for "IPC6023" and you'll see how common it is
