BTYahooMail

Go to solution

Without notice BT/Yahoo have removed the mail forwarding setting on my account and so I cannot turn off exisiting forwarding instructions to the now defunct Tesco email service. People emailing me are getting Delivery Failure Reports!

I have been in contact with BT/Yahoo about this since 5 November. Have had numerous conversations about the fault and there have been several failures to call back as promised.

Absolutely nothing has happened. No one can tell me what action if any has been taken and when the problem might be resolved.  All I want is the forwarding to Tesco turned off or my account migrated to BT so that I can turn it off myself.

This is costing me time and money, not to mention missed appointments etc and there is no end in sight.

I will not give up but would welcome suggestions about how to get some senior management influence into this

If you go into the settings you can change back to the Classic View. This will then allow you to delete any forwarding set up that you may have had.

You should find "return to classic mail at the foot of the settings box.

In Classic Mail Options I only have:

Signature   Disposable Addresses Vacation Responses  Blocked Addresses  Mail Accounts

Nothing that covers Forwarding

Spent nearly 2 hours on the line with BT on 5th Nov reaching this conclusion!

Are you back into the "old" Classic view?

The link to return to classic view is small and is very light blue coloured.

It is not on the left hand side. It is at the foot of the box that opens when you click on settings . Click settings on the top right, click more settings, on the bottom left you should see "Switch to Classic Mail"

Definitely in Classic. Just switched back and forth twice following your instructions to make sure

In classic view go to the settings next to your username at the top right. In the drop down box select  "options" and you should see on the left side POP and Forwarding

Re: BTYahooMail

It's just not there. Apparently Yahoo withdrew the Forwarding option sometime ago and therefore those of us whose accounts were not migrated across to BT Mail proper are stuck with a second rate service.

Very grateful for your interest in this as I'm really at my wits end

Re: BTYahooMail

I know it was withdrawn on BTMail and that it did not show on the new interface of BTYahoo mail but I was under the impression that it was still possible to access it via the "classic view".

Unfortunaetly I am no longer on the BTYahoo mail system so I was guiding you via a Yahoo email account that I have and the option for forwarding is still there.

You will not be migrated to the BTMail system. I have no idea if this is possible but it might be possible for BT/Yahoo to turn off the forwarding for you. I would imagine that it is well beyond the scope of the first line Customer Service reps so I have notified the moderators of the forum about your problem.

Once they have read this they may be able to help. They are a BT UK based team and if they can help they will reply via this thread asking you to contact them via a link. They are very busy at present so once you have replied to them by the link, it can take 48 hours for them to re-contact you.

Re: BTYahooMail

Thanks again.

As you say it is way beyond the scope of the first line Customer Team who do nothing more than refer to the email team and then fail to communicate as promised when asked to escalate as a complaint.

The (offshore?) email team are "working on the issue" but will not say who has done what and when, nor will they provide any avenue for escalation or a timeline.

I plan visting BT HQ in  London if this is not sorted out soon

Hi, welcome to the forums.

Forwarding in BTYahoo mail was turned off early last year!

I was under the impression that this simply stopped, and any forwarding set was removed. Otherwise there would have been utmost chaos.

Do you know the exact delivery failure report you are getting? (don't post any personal details). This would apply to every single email you got.

To test this, you could drop me a PM with your address and I could send a test message to your btinternet address to see what happens.

(To BT moderators, the help page at Yahoo needs removing https://uk.help.yahoo.com/kb/bt/SLN22028.html )
