I would suggest that if you previously contacted the moderator when they offered to help, that you re-contact them via the link and advise them of the progress or rather lack of progress with your problem. They should be able to chase this up for you.

Re: BTYahooMail

Hi @Nelson75,

I am sorry that this fault is still ongoing. Your case is with Yahoo to fix. They've stated that they can't remove the email from the auto forwarding section and said that their engineering teams are investigating. They've told us that it is part of a known bug that they're trying to fix. As soon as we get an update about it we will post up here to let you know.

Thanks

They need to get their finger out, this could have been fairly embarrassing or dodgy if someone was forwarding to, say, a group email address they no longer control - or something along those lines.

Clearly there is some internal processes that still provide a forwarding from an address that can't be accessed by the user. Maybe Yahoo could re-instate the feature and inform users to remove the forwarding (if that's possible).

Sorry, but could someone  comment on whether the problem is Yahoo or BT?  They are different companies and I assume Nelson75 has a contract with BT, not Yahoo, in which case it is BT that is responsible as far as Nelson75 is concerned. When I raised  my complaint with the Ombudsman about the autoforwarding problem on my Btyahoo email they only refered to Bt in their response. Yahoo probably should not even come into the conversation?

It is BT's resposibility to get the suppliers to sort out the problem. Yahoo run the BTYahoo system, as well as other mail systems for their other partners - e.g. Sky. With Sky, they have more features, including forwarding, but Yahoo are only providing a basic service to BT.

Hence BT need to contact Yahoo to get them to fix the issue since it's a fault within Yahoo itself. Customers have to contact BT.

As far as I can see nobody has said it is not BT's problem. Clearly BT have accepted that it is their problem to resolve the matter hence the moderator stating that they have raised the matter with Yahoo, their supplier, to investigate and resolve the problem for BT and when this is done the moderator will advise the OP who is BTs contracted customer.

I suspect that what the moderator has done is what is now called "transparity" so that the OP is aware of what is involved in getting a solution to his problem, which would appear to me that this is giving the OP more information and keeping him in the loop rather than just saying "BT will fix it and we will not mention Yahoo" but of course that might not be seen as good practice by some!

How to stop Auto Forwarding email on BT Yahoo

Go to solution

Hello - I know there are different posts on this and it looks like the option has been removed, but I'm hoping one of the moderators will be able to help me please?  I set up an auto forward years ago and now wish to stop it but I've looked everywhere and the option no longer is available.  Many thanks.

Hi.

This feature was removed 2 years ago.

However there seems to be an issue that for some people the forwarding remains, despite the feature being removed as an option. There's clearly a system fault, which Yahoo needs to sort out - though naturally it's BT that need to investigate this.
