The engineer couldn't find any problems on the network, but he replaced the socket and recommended we replace your router, as the Openreach modem you have is faulty. We need to wait now for the replacement Hub I ordered today to be delivered, so I'll catch up with you then.
Hi,
From the satatement above I can conclude many things.
1. Massive typo or lack of attention to detail.
2. Your Openreach modem is faulty and needs replacement.
3. BT can't supply you with an Openreach modem. So they sent you a router insted.
4. The hub 4 supplied is to replace modem and existing router.
Not much help but for now do you want to explore option 4?
If the engineer suggested the router be replaced due to a faulty Openreach modem I would expect an HH6 as a replacement, not another ADSL router.

This makes total sense to me now. 6 not 4.And get rid of Openreach Modem. Thanks.
What does @pippincp know about PPP sessions please in my thread? PPP Dropouts during day.
Just to let the mods know, BT called me this evening and are sending me another hub which doesn't require a seperate modem (forgot the person's name but thank you!)
I'll update when I've got it set up.
Hi @xero that's great I really hope the replacement Hub resolves this for you. I believe it's @StephanieG that's helping you. Post back and let us know how you get on with the new Hub
Hi @xero thanks for taking my call today.
Good to hear that the connection has improved following the visit. Please do post back if there's anything else we can help with 🙂
Thanks
