Best Setup for wireless Speed

Hi,

Just womering what the views were to getting the best speed from a new infinity circuit. Wired in I get 75/15 but on wireless this drops to 30/15.

Is it best bet to replace the Home hub. I have tried N adapters and changing the wireless interface type to 40 MHz but no real increase ?

Has anyone seen/managed to get any better results

Also I have this below but I can't disable. Is this right ?

Thanks,

Re: Best Setup for wireless Speed

In order to disable BT FON you will have to opt out of it, you could possibly invest some money in a N draft router with better wireless range and speeds, however, this won't guarantee much more or better speeds over wireless.

I would've suggested homeplugs myself and odd your have seen no real increase.

Re: Best Setup for wireless Speed

I get 52Mbs wireless speedtest on my Draytek 2750 to my laptop.

I assume must be connecting Wireless N.

Re: Best Setup for wireless Speed

My best speed over wireless used to be 30-35mbps, upload around 16mbps, after changing the hh3 wireless settings to 40mhz & enabling the 40mhz function on the wireless n adaptor on my laptop (which was disabled by default!!) I have just had a speedtest result of 70 mbps down!!

I also had a massive ping decrease which was previously jumping around all over the place and usually 100+ms, after making the changes above and running the ping command I'm getting a much more stable ping of around 20ms.

I know have a wireless connection which is 98% as good as my wired connection, which gets me 75 down.
