I currently have a BT MT992 modem connected to a Ubiquity Gateway, all within about 5 metres of the BT Socket and each other. I would like to move the MT992 modem and gateway, is it best to extend the cable from the MT992 modem to the Master Socket or leave the MT992 modem adjacent to the master socket and extend the network cable from the MT992 to the Gateway, or doesn't it really matter which is moved ? Many thanks in advance for any advice.

If it doesn't matter which you move, leave the modem where it is. It is always preferable to extend Ethernet rather than DSL.
