Big Sport - NowTV additional devices

Go to solution

I'm a new customer and plan to get the big sport pack and hd add on.

I understand I will have access to the channels via my bt tv box. Will I also have access to both the BT Sport channels and NowTV Sky channels through online / BT app? Or are the NowTV Sky channels accessed through NowTV's own app / site.

Also do I understand you can do two simultaneous connections? Three on NowTV with the add on?

Many thanks in advance.

I have the pack  and can watch BT Sports and Now TV / Sky Sports on WIN 10 PC and my phone. That is when the system works. This is fortunate, see below.

I left SKY in March. I have had 3 engineers out to problems. This week had to have a new router (loss of internet - box failed) and an engineer is coming tomorrow with a new BTTV box. The box has failed. Loss of TV and Sport recordings, for almost a week!!! Not fond of getting up at 0700hrs Sat & Sun to watch NRL / NZ RU live on the PC!

I am regretting having ditched the reliability of SKY but it was too costly to get BT Sport and SKY Sport.

Hi @JohnC11

First taking the Big Sport package  and HD addon would give access to watch and record  the channels thru the EPG (guide) on the BT TV Youview box. (max two recordings at same time).

You would also have the Now TV Sports Pass which has its rules on devices ,and concurrency determined by Now TV . With the HD add to your Big Sport you would get the Now Tv Boost included . So that Boost gives you the benefit of the additional (third) concurrent use and also higher quality stream.  So you would be using the NOW Tv app on your device(s). for live Sky Sports  channels. There is a NOW TV app on the BT TV Youview Box and if you registered that as a device that would count as one of your six.

You would have access to the BT TV App which you could use to watch the BT Sports channels  (although consider the BT Sport App instead) and AMC . The BT TV App on Android and IOS mobile devices would allow you to manage recordings remotely on your BT TV box.

You would also have the BT Sport App which depending upon your devices would give a better quality and more options  for watching the BT Sport live and catchup content with its enhanced player and other features.

Note that the Now TV App, BT TV App and BT Sport App  are different apps  so they each have their own conditions.

Re: Big Sport - NowTV additional devices

Hi all, appreciate some advice please? Two weeks ago I subscribed to BT Big Sport. When I try to watch sport via the Nowtv app on my phone I get the message that I need a sky sports pass to watch it on this device. I contacted Nowtv who said I had to contact BT so I did and was told everything was set up correctly at their end. Has anybody else experienced this issue?   Also, how do you record Sky sports via the BT box please? It doesn’t seem possible via the Nowtv app and in the main programme guide (called the ‘EPG’?) I get a message that I need to set the channel up. Again any advice gladly received!  Many thanks.

@Ady1963 when you see the message saying that you need to set the channel up, have you tried then clicking the button to set the channel up? It should only take a few seconds, and only needs to be done once.

Thanks Darren, I assumed this was an actual Sky set up and not linked to BT. I’ve just selected one of the channels and it’s let me straight in, so all good :-). Thanks once again
