Im very glad to read someone else is having the exact same problem as me. I know this an old thread but did you have any luck sorting out your problem?
I am so stressed out sorting out my issue. I have spoken to so many people at bt who have told me something then not followed through. I have been chasing a final bill for 2 months after asking for it 5 times and just received it. Literally the day after i had a letter demanding the ammount or my credit rating will be affected.

They normally reply by email or phone directly to you within 3 working days they will take personal ownership of your problem until resolved and will keep you informed of progress
They are a UK based BT specialist team who have a good record at getting problems solved
