Im on the supertest fibre with broadband through a phone line. I've opted for the netgear nighthawk ac1900 adsl/vdsl modem router. Hopefully this can give me a better stable connection for gaming. Will using the advanced qos give me a better bufferbloat rating?

I don't know what type of QoS they use because it's proprietary. It will definitely be better than nothing, that's for sure.

I'll see what happens man. Thanks man. After all the conversations I've had with bt they've never mentioned it could be bufferbloat. I guess they don't know much besides reading from a script and insisting u use they default smarthub

Buffer bloat is ONLY an issue when your connection is fully saturated remember.

Well how come setting up qos has fixed the problem for me? I now get a A rating for bufferbloat and have no more latency issues in gaming?

Besides, i wouldn't recommend anyone to use the default isp routers, they're only good for basic web browsing, start doing anything more they start to buckle under the heavy load. They are free and given to every customer, so they're not always going to be the best quality
