Bought a new build, what do I do to connect to internet?

So this is what my new build looks like..... is this normal? What do I need to do to get the internet set up? Thanks

Place an order for a phone line from a Service Provider first. Once that is working, you can then ask for broadband.

Grey duct normally Openreach, green duct normally Virgin Media, you don’t seem to have either duct cabled, and some sort of non standard cable coming out of your home...none  of that looks ‘normal’, does your address appear on ISP’s ordering portals ?

When going to ISP websites and searching my postcode for availability this is what I get....

Virgin - Address does not appear, but Virgin is available at my postcode/street.

BT - Address does not appear, but BT is available at my postcode/street.

Sky - Address appears.

Talk Talk - Address appears.

Who is the developer, have they said which networks are available ? , in more normal times asking a neighbour who’s been moved in longer may give an idea who is available, many new sites have FTTP, but that ( in OR’s case ) would usually be installed before you move in , and you would have an ONT somewhere in the property, rather than a master phone socket (NTE) what if anything exists inside your property ?

Its odd that TT and Sky show as available for your address , but BT don’t ( all use OR infrastructure ), both Sky and TT don’t offer FTTP so perhaps although new build, it’s going to be a copper pair service, it would have been up to the developer to request FTTP, perhaps they didn’t bother.

Some New Build Sites slip through the net when it comes to FTTP, usually as a result of the Developer not providing enough notice to Openreach.

FTTP takes a lot more planning and Complex Build than Copper does so if it’s short notice then they’ll provide Copper in the short term with the possibility of doing an over lay of Fibre in the future.

developer is small, you won't have heard of them. I'll try contacting them to understand what I need to do.

If it’s a small development its probably not going to be FTTP,  OR offered ‘free’ connection to FTTP initially on developments of 30 property’s,  then 12 property’s , it could be that the developer had stocks of grey and green duct and provided a ducted feed to the curtilage of the site, if they did, were OR contacted about linking up the builder provided grey duct into whatever  OR network is in the area

It still seems strange that BT are not recognising your address ( using OR data ) when other Telco’s using the same address data do, unless it’s down to Covid -19 restrictions, the appointment books are currently closed so that may feed into the ordering portal, where as others may take an order but with a date many weeks into the future, in the hope the books will re open by them 

Regardless  of whoever you chose , OR will probably not enter your property to connect you anytime soon, so unfortunately you may have longer to wait anyway,
