ok.. hehe, perhaps I'm not being clear - yes.. there are two different email accounts..
I'm talking about the default folder structure within those two different btinternet email accounts..
eg:
the one thats ok has:
Inbox, drafts, sent, junk, Trash, archive, bulk email, draft, junk e-mail, sent, spam, trash
the one thats not ok has:
Inbox, drafts, sent, junk, Bin, archive, bulk email, draft, junk e-mail, sent, spam, trash
so there is a difference in the structure, the one with the difference is a 'gift' account.. its also the gift account which is intermittanly failing to sync using IMAP

Hi
Due to email issues and as I said, I have two BT email accounts and the one with issues has a different folder structure within and is gifted hence, by bringing it in line with my other emails accounts might resolve my issue.
thanks
Gifting or not has absolutely no effect whatsoever on the operation of an email address, it is purely an administrative thing to give the other person control over the password, nothing more, nothing less.
explain the difference in default folder structure then?!
when you delete and email, where does it go.. bin or trash?
What make you think that ungifting the email account will make any difference to the email account.
Basically all you are doing is after having "gifted" the email to your wife, who then became the manager, you are now taking that "gift" back so that you can manage it.
It is just like gifting her a diamond ring that she can sell/alter if she want and then you taking it back so she can not sell/alter it. It does not alter the ring one iota.
applogies but you didnt answer the question, there are differences with in email accounts accounts.

It has nothing to do with being gifted.
I suspect one or other of you has renamed the folder bin to trash or vice versa.

What does it show when you log onto webmail?
If you are comparing it on a mobile device, are the operating systems exactly the same with exactly the same updates etc.
Are the apps exactly the same with the same version number and updates?
It make no odds what bin or trash folder is called as long as it is doing the same job.
default folders, you cant rename them..

Exactly! It is the devices app that she is using that is changing them!
And will do regardless of ownership of the address.
