British Elite League Speedway

Last year Sky showed many Elite league matches from the start of the season, this year BT has taken over from Sky but only half heartedly. They are not showing any Elite league matches until June when half of the season is over. Why take it over and not show the first half of the season BT?

Re: British Elite League Speedway

I'Ve moved this thread to the general Bt Sport forum as it is not specific to on line or app coverage.

That article indicates that BT Sport filled the void caused by the incumbent broadcaster declining to continue to cover the Speedway. So in the circumstances calling BT coverage half hearted  is I think a bit harsh given when the contract appeared to be agreed. Most sports rights are agreed well in advance  to allow Tv schedules to be set and in the case of events where the rights winner has to provide the Tv coverage with its own broadcast units rather than simply take camera feeds from an existing host broadcaster arrange for the events to be filmed.

it will be interesting what the Tv rights are for 2018.
